Das unheilbringende Naturereignis wird durch Verwerfungen am Meeresgrund verursacht und löst gigantische Überschwemmungen aus. Ein besonders verheerender Tsunami ereignete sich 2004 in Südasien und kostete 280.000 Menschen das Leben.
